Spas: Take a seat before you put up your feet

You wouldn't buy a car without going for a test drive; the same connotation can be used for spa pools.

Before investing in a spa pool it is important you take a seat inside the spa pool/s you are considering, to gather an understanding of what's going to be most comfortable and relaxing for you, and the users of your new spa.

The best way to compare spas is to have those who will be frequently using the spa come into the store and try sit in the different models to determine the comfort and depth of the seating as well as the legroom. Whether you want to bring the whole family out or not is entirely up to you

Different seats will affect the kind of soak you will have. Therefore think about if you're more comfortable sitting up or lying down, or prefer to be seated next to your partner for a relaxing evening. Most seating can be provided with jets resulting in the luxury you deserve. Most importantly, ask yourself how many people you want to accommodate. Check to see that the foot well is large enough to hold the number of people it says it will.

A spa's overall depth can be ambiguous. The best depth for relaxation, therapy and comfort is one where users can sit in a seat or lounger and have the water level above your shoulders and below your chin. Therefore from the seat tread to the water level is the most important dimension. So whilst sitting in a dry spa try all available seats and note where the water level will be.
